You're all forgetting he's back on the FireLord's shitlist again. Strictly speaking, he's no longer a prince, nor even an accepted member of the Fire Nation. Ozai was willing to kill Zuko as a child. He had no qualms about dueling him, defeating him, and banishing him. He would have been in enough trouble over Aang still being alive, factor in his behaviour with his father during the Eclipse, and we have a firebender with no homeland.
On top of that, after the invasion, Hakoda's got a LOT of respect for Sokka now. If Zuko wins over Sokka with the rest of the gAang, I think that'd be good enough for Hakoda. If not, we've got the crappy pacing to compensate for it. I still think Zuko should have told Aang about being a descendant of Roku. Aang practically worships him. If he finds out Zuko's his grandson, (or is it great-grandson?) he'd never question Zuko again.
Holy shizzle! When I first started watching, I though "Shallow character development, total shit for pacing, abuse of all the cliches, not to mention classic battle of good vs evil. This show sucks!" And now I'm formulating all these theories and everything. Damn, I've turned into an Avatard.

P.S: I think Sokka and Toph should end up together.

*lol* I remember back when Tokka was a crack ship... My opinion on Avatar fluctuates drastically depending on the episode. I have some friends who have seen one episode or another, and they have completely different views, it's really quite amusing. That's a good point, if they need screen time to have Hakodo accept Zuko, I'm sure they'll be able to squeeze it into a sucky second. Arg, there's just too much awesome s**t they have to accomplish with these last few episodes.

Unfortunately the writers gave Sokka a love interest, you all remember Suki right? However I've been seeing a lot of pushing in fan base for Tyoka, you Know a Tylee Sokka pairing.

Did Suki survive that run-in with Azula? There's honestly no evidence either way. lol A good writing team would have made it known and had it all planned out.
Hmmm. Tylee and Sokka... I could see that, if Sokka can overlook the Fire Nation thing. Of course, if Zutara happens, that could affect Tyokka.

I can see where Zutara fans get their thoughts, I think I may be one 2. Zuko and Katara get along like a married couple as it is.

And on another note they appear to have written in Tylee having some kind of interest in Sokka.

The more I go back and watch, the more I have a very hard time believing in Tyokka. Tylee was one of the ones who ambushed Suki and her warriors. Sokka's never going to forgive that. Not to mention, it was a fire bender who was more or less responsible for Ulaa's death.

Well, well, well. Going back and reading this, after seeing those two eps, I have to laugh. We were all worried about crappy pacing for Hakoda OR Sokka to ever accept Zuko, but WOW! I thought that was extremely well-handled.
That also puts an end to my Tokka theory. Of course, I was only considering Toph because I thought Suki was dead. I really hope they don't stick Toph with Aang. She deserves so much better.
Kataang fans might as well pack it in now. What's Aang done for the family? He damn near frigged up Sokka's and Katara's chance to meet up with their dad, and Zuko's gone and brought Hakoda out of the Fire Nation. Given how much emphasis the Water Tribe puts on family and clan, that means more to Sokka and Katara than anything.

If that's true Pipe then we're seeing a big leap of confirmation for Zutara fans. Edit: come on seriously Zuko just helped their family, which may have just scored him some brownie points with Sokka and maybe some alone time with Katara

It does look very good for them.^^ But the Maiko ship got a gigantic boost these two epis. She's actually gone and shown some passion for him, as shocking as that is. Their interaction in Boiling Rock was nicely done. I find myself almost liking it. I don't know, there's really very little time left for Zutara. >_> I get the feeling Katara will only show interest in Zuko long enough to make Aang get jealous, give up the ghost and admit his feelings to her so they can get together and live happily ever after for the last 2 minutes of the show. It's funny, Zuko and Sokka have completely hijacked this season. Aang hasn't done JACK, you're right about that, Dragonchamp. If I were a Kataang shipper, I think I would be pissed. But the Maiko shippers are dancing through the streets, I'm sure.

I think you might have a point there, Sniper. If you think about it, Aang and the gang have to defeat Ozai AND Azula to win. That'd put Zuko back on the throne, and now that Mai's broken her ties with Azula, we'll only see her again if Azula falls.
Personally, I'd rather see Katara end up with Haroo than Aang, if Zuko's out of the question. I'm not entirely sure it is, though. Seriously, these writers keep going for ALL the old, tired cliche's. They keep it interesting, but that's still what they're doing. I'm not ready to give up on Zutara yet.

Well the next few episodes will make or break things for some of these fan services.
