Well, I was hoping people would start threads like that on their own in the general section. Like a thread for each anime they wish to discuss. And if I make them, the discussions sort of die... (I will go make an FMA thread, though.) Any ideas for sections?

FMA would be one of my first choices. I'll put up others if you want?

Hey, maybe you could try putting in a Cbox? www.cbox.ws/It's not very common on forums for comics so it's completely up to you, but I've found that it really helps just push the site along and lets the members get to know eachother a lot better. It's also just kind of a spam box where people can post random stuff. But mostly, it's so that if two people are on at the same time they can just say Hi without having to create an entire thread on it. It's a great place for small talk. The downsides are that it only stores about a hundred or so posts at a time and if a fight starts up on it it's hard to trace how it got started. A cbox makes it a lot easier for fights to break out and since it's just one cbox for whatever random stuff you can think of it's rather unorganized. But I've used one on all of my roleplaying sites and even though rp sites are different I think it would really help this site to get moving. When (if) it gets more memebers, like a lot, I'd suggest taking it down so it doesn't get too cluttered but it's great for a smaller site like this one is now. Also, I recommend affiliates or more advertising of some sort. DoomNStuff is awsome, but I'm not sure how anyone's supposed to find it. I mean, I came accross it completely on accident. Maybe create a banner to put on more comic-advertising sites? Or something like that.

Well, the thing about proboard forums is that I can't actually alter the code... PLus, to get the "users online listing" feature I would have to pay $2 a month, which I don't have, cuz I'm unemployed and paying rent. That's also why I don't buy advertising. I have a few places over thr net where DnS is linked, and back when I started this I bought a lot of advertising, so DnS gets 16000 unique visitors a month, which is great for a site that updates as slowly/irregularly as mine. I definitely agree wityh you about the advertising, though, and as soon as I have the money for it, I will be buying some. I guess, another reason I don't want to buy any yet is that there are still lot's of empty spaces. Like the character page for Magic High, and the maps of the comic worlds, and the How To's. So, I really have a lot of work to do before this place is advertising worthy. I do have a tagboard though! Just, nobody goes on it...

Hey Snipes - if you want people to hang out on the tagboard, now that the forum is a little more populated, you probably want to put it on the main page, or in the sidebar that sticks around on all the site pages... just my $0.02

Thats a good point. I have a friend who just figured out iframes. I'm thinking of getting him to help me redo the page so that the purple part is an iframe, that way all the pages will be the same size (unlike now, where they're all off a bit) but I could put the recent updates inside the frameon the main page, and the tagboard on the side where the updates used to be. Hmm. Or something, I need to think about this. It would be DoomNstuff v5.0 or so.^^

true... but it's not really a website if it doesn't go through revisions . or so it seems... also, this seems to be more complicated, and usually done by comic hosting type sites, but another way (more focused on the comic) to capture the 'tagboard' would be to have page comments associated with the pages... at least, that's what I've seen on other sites.

Yeah, that's true. The problem with DoomNstuff is that White Noise isn't the only focus (though it should be) so having the tagboard focus on White Noise would not be fair to Magic High or whatever other stuff I do here. But meh, that would make a difference wereI updating...

What I meant was more of a 'page comment' style thing. I'm not sure how complicated it is, but a lot of webcomics have a thing where you leave comments on pages that stay in the archives - arguably, that's not really desirable, since we have a place for that on the forum, and it's not really the same as a tagboard anyway.

Ah, yes, my friend at NNFB has that. I actually would rather not do that, because people can leave some really strange remarks on pages (if NNFB is any indicator) and those are the first thing people who are new to the comic will see of the fanbase, and I'd feel like a Nazi editing comments... Whereas here you guys can leave whatever strangeness you want. This way, if people new to the comic are interested in the fanbase, they have a place to go. Though comments under the pages would let readers know that there is a fanbase in the first place...

point . one of the other comics I read finally had to switch to filtering comments because people were being really inappropriate on the page comments - however, that same comic also hadsa system where comments are only visible for the most recent page. Keeps whats there to strictly about that page, without referenceing pseudo-conversations from previous pages... anyway - was just trying to think of a way to keep the tagboard feel without keeping it the way it is now... moving it to be associated with the first page, or with all the pages is probably the way to go

... Does anybody know what that little icon next to the logout button at the top there is supposed to be? I know what it looks like, but that can't be right, cuz these are all the default images the forum came with... 0_o
