Oh so it's like the difference of knowing your actually superior and thinking your superior. Which by the way for most people with the complex it's the first one.

I suppose I can't really stay away from a philosophical discussion so I might as well throw in my personal viewpoint here:
This moment in time, you and I being here to share ideas, is possible as a result of the work and choices of billions of individuals from thousands of generations before us, and before that billions of years of evolution, and before that the perfect combination of cosmic forces that brought our planet to a state capable of sustaining life.
We are all the most amazing coincidence ever conceived. The entire course of time has served to bring us to this moment. Our civilization stands upon the shoulders of every person to come before us, and the generations to come will stand upon your shoulders. People may live or die by the simplest choices you make now. Even on a much shorter time line you affect every person you interact with, and in turn they affect others, so that your every decision has a much greater impact than most people ever understand.
Humankind is connected in an infinitely complex social network, with each person playing upon the lives of one another.
Anyhow, I'll stop here before I ramble on any longer. It's just kind of a hard idea for me to get across to my satisfaction.
