Hi all! My real name is Samantha, but I go by Saknika here in the internet world. I'm into anime, manga, martial arts, and photography. Right now I am a professional photographer working to break out in my field, and on the side I not only practice martial arts, I help instruct it as well. My forte with it right now though, is self defense. Anime and manga wise, I will try just about anything. My favourite stuff though is Studio Ghibli. Hayao Miyazaki is AMAZING. <333
But yes, that is me in a nutshell. I have some other hobbies and interests, but those are the big three. C:

Hi Saknika, and welcome!! Yes, it's very quiet here. I'm hoping that will change eventually. And yes, Miyazaki is amazing. XD

Hi Saknika! Miyazaki is amazing. What would you say is your favorite film by him?

MadSniper: Well, then I vote for a fanart contest and have the details here on the forum, causing people to flock! Bunny: That's a tough call. I'd have to say that Grave of the Fireflies was the most emotional and really heart-felt one, but my favourite is a toss up between Nausicaa and Princess Mononoke. I honestly have loved pretty much every single one that I've seen so far though.

I haven't seen Grave of the Fireflies. I'll have to watch that. Nausicaa and Mononoke are amazing. I would have to say Mononoke is my absolute favorite. :]

When you watch GotF, make sure you have something ridiculously happy to watch or do right after. And a box of tissues... or two. The film is so sad, but soooo good.

what makes it worse is that you know exsactly how its going to end right from the beginning

Yeah, you do. But watching the train of events... god. It is, by far, the most depressing film on the face of the planet, and yet it was done so well.

Seriously. I get a little choked up if I even think about it for too long. 0_o
I think Howl's Moving Castle is up there for me (not my favorite, cuz I really can't pick one) just because it's so damn happy, and there's even a love story!
Fanart contest, eh? What should the prize be?

Howl was really good, but only because Calcifer is awesome. ROFL Not only that, but it had a really wonderful plot. Really wonderful.
You could have a custom wallpaper or something as a prize, something only the winner would ever have. A lot of people really love that.

Not to mention they'd have serious bragging rights. Everyone loves those. Plus, when you announce it, if you link to their DA or something, people enjoy the exposure it gives them.

Ah, interesting.XD Would it be theirs alone in that I wouldn't be allowed to post it on my site? And should it be WN themed, or the winner's choice?
