Yeah. A lot of the non-benders in this show are awesome. That's another cool thing about it, people in this universe without powers are still bada$$.

bah - it can't last :: grumble grumble :: i mean, we've got a while to go, and there was no love in ang's fortune-telling (remember, remember!), so i think that at some point he loses katara... anyway, i could just be in denial

Yeah. I'm trying to come up with ways that it could end up untrue. I'm thinking actually that since that reviewer was only given small clips to veiw, what was shown to them was intentionally misleading. I mean, Kataang happening is a big deal, I don't see why they would want to spoil that. Also, it does seem pretty early in the show for it to happen, if it's going to end up the true pairing. Yeah, I keep remembering the fortuneteller too. She did say that he could reshape his destiny though. So who can say! I don't want Aang and Katara to get together, and then break up because of Zuko. I want Zuko to be their friend!! I'd be seriously pissed off at him if he tried to take Kat away from Aang. Aang's like the only person who would trust the guy. (though Toph might, since she has no reason not to trust him, other than the firebender thing) *pouts* I don't know what to believe anymore. I mean, Toph has a crush on Sokka?? The hell??? She's sposed to like Aang! So that when Katara turns him down he can get with Toph!
Meh. The only thing that would really ruin the show for me was if Zuko did not end up joining the gaang. I will stop watching the show if that turns out to be the case, and write a huge fanfiction about how it was supposed to go, claiming that they ruined it. I think that what happens in the future between the gaang and the resident non-evil firebenders will be a really big deal. That's why Zuko and Iroh haven't had much to do this season. It's pretty much all been filler with them. And I know from my own writing that when you have two parties, one party usually will have lots of really important things to do, while the secondary party may have to sit around and twidle their thumbs for a while, waiting for the story to throw the two together. And that's when things get cool, if both parties are comprised of such awesome characters. That's usually the kind of thing I can't wait to get around to, and end up having a hard time coming up with things for the secondary party to do, which results in them being off camera a lot more than usual. I'm babbling, aren't I?

hehe maybe a little actually, upon reflection, that review really stank. it wasn't very well written, and it didn't really 'review' much - it just gave out info about the show, which was probably highly doctored by personal opinion... i choose to see the episodes with my own eyes, because i trust my opinions more than mr. lame reviewerness

I agree! The more I think about it, the more I'm certain we've been led astray by these spoilers. I mean, it's way too early in the show for anyone to be ending up with anyone, and I'm thinking the whole "accepts him with tears in her eyes" is either, one, she's very touched by his telling her how important she is to him, or two, she's just told him she doesn't feel that way about him. If it's the second case, then Nick is really mean, edited scenes so that they look like one thing when they're something else. I'm betting its the first case. Just more fluffy sweetness between the two, and not an actual admission of feelings. Not yet. So, in the following episodes, aparently they all go to the king's ball. ;D And I mean everyone, for aparently Zuko gets a date too! The Zutarians are desparately trying to figure out how it could be Katara, but the mute EK girl they mention in that article is probably the mystery date girl, judging from pictures we've seen. (They showed a picture of the mystery date with a ? for a face, but her hair is definitely the same as the EK girl.) Anyway, I'm really excited about this because it's going to be hilarious, one, when they find out who their new friend is going to th ball with, two, when we see exactly how and by who Zuko got blackmailed into taking her, and three, when he and Kat invariably get paired up on the dance floor in one of those partner swapping moments. Hehe. (I'm always so confident in my theories until I see the episodes. They're really beginning to make me question my judgement as a writer, never being able to tell wherethey are actually going.XD)

haha that's funny - i don't know that judgement has much to do with it - these avatar folks just seem to go their own way... i soooo want katara and zuko to dance with eachother that would be totally awesome!!! hehe (oh, and as a side note, if they do have katara and ang as a couple when he's still 12, i am quite disturbed about the sorts of messages this show is giving to the younguns... i mean really... okay, end of grumpy old person rant )

Yeah! If they're paired on the dance floor, I'd bet they'd both be like "WTF?" if they still didn't know at that point that they're both in Ba Sing Se. And the dance would come to a screeching hault. Then they'd have to play nice and dance, so as not to arouse suspicion. But they'd gripe at each other quietly as they did so. XD Ugh, yeah, that's my main problem with Kataang. He's so young! It just weirds me out. >_<

hehe like the episode of Firefly, 'Shindig' where Mal and Inara are argueing on the floor - I can totally see Katara insulting Zuko, then being like hah, because he can't firebend without getting into mucho-troublo...

So all my shipping theories of season two have been shot down.>_< And now there's only three episodes left!! They have so much to do with them, too! -Zuko needs to learn that the gaang is in Ba Sing Se -The gaang needs to find brainwashed Jet (like its been said they will in previews) -they have to de-brainwash him to get some info out of him (so I hear) -They need to find appa -they're going to get imprisoned y the Dai Li (again, so I hear) -they're going to get busted out of prison by some unexpected ally (*coughZukocough*) -and they need to get in to see the king and tell him about the eclipse before it happens!! Ack! It's going to be one crammed packed season finale! *spazz*

*resisting urge to rename thread "Avatar Sucks"*
Okay. So. The creators of Avatar have actually gone out of their way to spit in the faces of everyone who liked the character Zuko best. Like me. Welp, they ruined him. With one completely non-sensical character choice, for the sake of not being predictable. For one cheap shock ending. I was honestly watching the show for him, for his development, because it was fascinating. But. In one fell swoop they rendered every good thing he has done, every excrutiatingly slow step he as taken, meaningless. Because aparently he was an evil pussy all along. Like all the Zuko-haters have been screaming. So. I have devoted this week to getting this vile show out of my system. Sorry no work has been done on my own stories. I haven't really eaten or worked on christmas presents or anything either. But. Now that I'm past this incredible let-down, I am more determined than ever to make White Noise, and every other story I tell, fabulous. I will suck my readers in, and then I will reward them for being there. Unlike the creators of Avatar, who sucked us in, and then slapped us in the face.

*brain hurts*
Okay, so I have had the finale and the bulk of season two explained to me thoroughly and without bias, and have reached the conclusion that Zuko did in fact NOT pull a 180, and that all Zuko lovers like myself were trying to push his character in a direction that was simply not him. Now, season three is going to go in a direction I never anticipated. But the ideas tha I am hearing are fascinating. They aren't what I had been hoping for, what I have been counting on, but they are no less amazing and brilliant. I am aparently watching a different show than I thought I was. But it turns out that this show is just as incredible (and a bit more sensical).
