Addicted to that November phenomenon known as nanowrimo? Talk about it here! Curious as to what it is? Visit the nanowrimo website, then come back and talk about it! www.nanowrimo.org

Whoo-hoo! :happydance: NaNo is the best thing that happened to my novel writing. Though, Um...Snipes, the actual NaNo site is .org, not .com. ^^;;; Also, a warning: The site is slower than molasses in an Alaskan January during the "on season" (October through November). They say they're trying to make it faster...but those efforts don't seem to be working. >.< By the way, in response to a question on the "story help" thread that started this all, that's right, using previously written prose is against the rules. It seems that if you have some kind of "glorified outline" that has prose in it, using that's okay, but actually having previously written work in your NaNo submission is, as they say on the site, "punishible by death." EDIT: I've made an official DnS thread in the Writer Groups board. Here's the link: www.nanowrimo.org/eng/node/1004661

Yes, we do have an official DnS thread! Though I expect this thread here will see more activity, since this server won't take until April to respond. >.< Ah, good good. We shall use NaNoWriMo to take over the WORLD!

Site's getting somewhat faster, so we should be able to practically use the official DnS thread now.
Also, I have a new crazy warp in my NaNo experience this year. I got volunteered to co-ML for my university town...Yeah. This should be interesting.

ML is the person who hosts the real party, right? Awesome! Damn, why don't I live in AZ?

Yeah, MLs are the ones who organize local events like write-ins, the kick-off party, and the Thank God It's Over party.
Lol! Snipes, you could try to go to write-ins in your OWN area. There is an option when you're logged in where you can specify where you live, and can then access your regional forums, which should contain information posted by your area's ML.

XD Well, we ARE talking about maybe doing the kick-off party on Halloween. But so far, the other ML and I are having issues just contacting enough locals to make even a micro-write-in. It's kind of depressing.

Aw, that sucks. Did you manage to get the kickoff party underway? Omg, it's already here, isn't it? I've only got a fraction prepared of what I wanted to get prepared for it!

Yeah, we did get one done. We had about 7 people total, which wasn't too bad. But Peter Piper Pizza doesn't serve anchovies. I wanted anchovies, damnit!
Yes, it IS already here. And I'm still, like, a day behind. Curse you, wisdom teeth! *shakes fist in the air*
Don't worry too much about preparation. Last year, I realized on Halloween that, while I knew quite a few details about my major plot points, I had never considered the geography of the world it took place in. XD Still, it turned out fine in the end. Don't fret too much about the details; they have a habit of filling themselvesin when you get to them.

Oh! By the way, I got a message by email a few days ago saying that wordcount widgets are on their way. So, soon we'll be able to publically post our wordcounts in our siggies! Mwahaha.

It's okay. My mom hasn't started hers either. And I'm still like, 3 days behind because of the whole tooth thing. My pal Cory, on the other hand, is like, 3 days ahead and already has 12K. I hate him now. =P
