Hi everyone! I've been reading White Noise for a while since discovering it on Inhuman's link list, and really like it. So I thought I'd drop in on the forum. A few things about me: I am 22 years old, live in Aachen and am working on my physics master at the moment. I've lived a year each in Canada and Norway, but am currently back in Germany. I'm a curious, laid-back guy with a screwed-up sense of humor and a liking for books, music, culture and science. I'm fond of anime, but not a total fan. Musical taste ranges from classical over folk to heavy metal. In two words, mostly harmless. I've started drawing a few months back, and have been messing around with pencils and watercolors since. In fact, I've brought a little gift.

H'lo reignbow! Nice to see new faces . Good luck with the masters, thoughts on whether you're continuing for the PhD or not? -- the martian - also crazy enough to stay in school...

Yupp, that's already pretty much a given. Graduate studies sound very interesting, and a PhD's a pretty normal thing to have for a physicist in Germany. If you want to do semi-independent research later on instead of being an assistant to some researcher, it's well-advised to get one before getting a "real" job.
I have to admit to being influenced by my family here. My parents met during their PhDs, my eldest brother finished his two years ago, and my younger older brother is currently in the middle of his. We're a little bit of an academic family ;D
