Hey everyone, just a quick intro, nothing too flash... To Madsniper, thank you so much for the wonderful web comic and for replying to my message. It really made my day. And yay, I can read the comic online again ;D. I can't wait until the book is released though. To everyone else, my real name is Michael and I'm a uni student at Charles Sturt University in Wagga. I want to be a writer, and before the end of the year, I want an epic which has been in my head for quite awhile. I'm a big fan of comics and animation in any form, personal favorites at the moment including Ultimate Spider-Man, Threads of time (a great Korean comic), Full Metal Alchemist (both magna and anime). RahXepheon and based on only one episode, Avatar: The Last Airbender. (Yes, it really is that good everyone. Man, I really need to get my hands on the DVDs) And of course, a wonderfully atmospheric comic called White Noise, which in my honest opinion, ranks amongst the best. A nice blend of science fiction and horror. It beats, in my opinion, a lot of professional comics which are being put out today. You guys should check it out. On hang on, you already did. Um, and that's all I really wanted to say. Sayonara!

*lol* Very nice to meet you, karade, and welcome to the DNS forum! Thanks for reading, and the suggestions for further reading.^^ Which episode of Avatar did you happen to see? It really is a fantastic show, but like every show in existence there are bad episodes too.^^' I have a few friends who've only seen one episode as well, and they hate the show.>_> So, what's this epic tale you have planned? Or do we get to know yet?

Okay, on to the important thing…Avatar…
The only ep I have seen so far has been ‘Avatar’s Day’ which involved Aang and co. meeting the residents of a town who claim that the Aang’s precious incarnation killed the leader of the town a thousand years before. The villagers aren’t happy the latest Avatar has turned up and lock him up in preparation for his trial. Appa and Katra however set about finding evidence to prove Aang’s innocence.
During the trial, Aang goes into a trance reliving his past life and it is revealed that the leader of the town was a ruthless tyrant over not only the town, but the entire continent and was planning to expand. The Avatar shows up and kills him in battle before he can put his plans into action. (or something like that, it’s been a month since I’ve seen it) Sadly, at this point, I had to go and get some groceries. (I hate being a grownup sometimes) and missed the end of the ep.
What impressed me the most about the episode was that Aang, in a past life, actually did kill someone (albeit for a good cause). It’s not something you see too often in American animation, particularly aimed at kids, and it’s defiantly hooked my interest. Hopefully, this isn’t going to be a one-off for the writers, because it’ll be interesting to see how this will have an affect on Aang and the show’s plot I don’t want this show drowning in angst, but it’s bound to have some sort of affect on the kid. Now, I missed the end of the ep, and while I know, - how did Aang and co. manage to get away? The villagers hardly would have left them, would they?
Another thing I did like however was, at least for Aang, that the voice actor was a kid about that age. I don’t think an adult could make or so charming. I’m not too sure about the voice actors for, they seemed to miss a bit of the comic timing intended in many of their scenes (or maybe that was just the episode). Still, the rest of the cast did a great job. The animation for a US TV series is also nice and detailed, which for me is a plus.
As for my epic, I’m still planning it. It’s either going to be a web comic or better yet, a flash animation series. I’ve seen some great things done with flash – you only have to check out the BBC’s Ghost of Alibon series to see that. Sadly though, I lack the technical expertises, but I can dream. I’ll let you guys know when the details are just right.
Thanks.

Avatar Day, really? hehe. You'll be happy to know there are many many episodes that are better than that. You like the adult themes? Check out Zuko Alone or Blue Spirit, or The Storm, or.... okay, watch the rest of the show! XD Go to veoh.com, it's like what youtube used to be. You can probably find the whole series there.^^
Flash animation sounds very cool. Though if you're going to do a webcomic, I recommend planning to get it printed from the very beginning. Reformatting after so long is really a pain in the ass.>_>
