Greetings everyone! I've been reading the comic for a long, long time now (2 years? 3? I can't remember...), and I've thrown shouts out in the CBox on the main page now and then, but only just today gotten around to joining the forums. If it hasn't already been taken, I'm officially claiming the title of Uber-Trekkie Dragon. If you have a question about anything relating to Star Trek (particularly the tech, ships, etc.), just ask, and if I don't know the answer myself, I'll probably be able to find it, or know someone who does.
I might not be around a whole lot (I both work and attend classes online full time (I'm a programming major, learning to make video games), and have multiple major career-related projects active), but I'll certainly poke my snout in now and then, and maybe on a regular basis, too! } ; = 8 )

In that case you fall into a similar category to my brother, he's a major trekkie. He does the Vulcan greeting, and even quotes Scotty and McCoy. I enjoy a view at all the Trek series every now and then myself.

lol Cool. I usually quote Spock more than anyone else ("Fascinating..."), but I'll throw the odd Trek quote out now and then. I'd probably do it more if I actually worked/lived with anyone who really knew anything about Trek, though...
Also, tell your brother to not let anyone tell him his fascination with Trek is a waste of time. Because of my Trek obsession, I'm writing the technical manual for Star Trek: Cardinal, what may well be the next Trek series.

Hullo, Ilithi.
Sadly, I'm not into Trek at all. It just never caught my interest. Congrats to hear you're involved in a major project so dependent on your obsession. That's great! I wish you the best of luck with that.

Whenever say his trek obsession is pointless, he comes back with a witty reply like "can you name a television series that has been there for every generation" I'm not sure if he actually said something like that, but it sounds like something he'd say. He also invented his own Star Trek character.

Actually, all but one of my current career projects, and the degree I'm working on, all stem from my love of/obsession with Trek, and the paths it has lead me down.

Hello, Ilithi, and welcome to the DNS forum! I used to watch Star Trek, Next Gen, all the time. XD Love that show. I've never seen much of the original, sadly, save for the movies. But I very much respect it for the diversity of its cast at a time when that was unheard of. I have a Trekkie tech question for you. Is there anything a reverse tachyon pulse can't do? ^_~

Tachyons are theoretical particles that travel faster than light. So it's hard to say.
