Lol! I know what you mean, Redcrow. That was one thing that made me quit watching Ruroni Kenshin after the segment with Shishio (even though I still love it). They just wouldn't stop explaining themselves! And then of course Kenshin would have the right thing to say to solve their problems, like some sort of samurai Dr. Phil. FMA did a good job of keeping some things a mystery, not too much to confuse the younger viewers but enough for us veteran anime watchers to sit up and take notice.

That was...sudden. I regret the passing of Irshen...but it sure rachets up the tension!

But... but... you killed Irshen. That makes me very sad.
However, it is nice to see some real development of the story here, and a real way of upping the stakes on what has, so far, been a quiet strip. The art is, as usual, above and beyond. I have to say also that your ability to write dialogue and plot has improved steadily as you write WN. Good job so far and I am looking forward to the next installment.

I feel I'm getting better too. It makes me much more excited about doing this, knowing that my craft and the comic itself are coming out of the awkward stage.^^ @crimson, Yeah sure.^^ Maybe Jean Gray subconsciously teleported him out of there while Phoenix was dissintegrating him. ^^ jk.

This is a pretty awesome comic in general, but I wanted to compliment two characters specifically.
First off, I wanted to say Wren seems somehow more real-ish than other leading role characters I've seen. His attitude and personality, that being a blend of slightly childish submissiveness and more mature anger, smack of a kid passing into adulthood; well done.
My personal favorite character though would have to be Lawler. I'm eager to find out what history grants such loyalty toward Hebe, and what history would grant him such a cold willingness to kill.
Oh, also, you do a kick ass job on expressions throughout.

Thank you so much, timetogo! Heh, I'm glad to see somebody admit to liking Lawler.^^ I can promise you that we will eventually see that history of his, too, but not for some time. (There's still so many characters to introduce!)

now, I have from time to time, mentioned that Lawler fascinates me in a disturbing sort of way... but I'm not sure I'll ever get to the point of 'liking' him... he's a little creepy... maybe he grows on you...
... oh goodness, I hope not!

I agree with timetogo about Wren. I like how all of these dramatic events are happening that will affect his life right outside but he is too busy sulking and being angsty in his room to notice. Very nice touch, kind of a metaphor for being young.

I just had a horrible thought... If Irshen's dead... and Lo's in trouble... does that mean that THE HERALD IS GOING TO GET WREN?!?!?! augh! the suspense and angst!
