i'm waiting to figure out what the sides ARE before i start speculating about betrayal... which, of course, there must be...
at this point, I'm pretty sure the only 'good guy' is Wren... everyone else seems to have hidden agendas...

Yeah, Wren's really the only character with fairly straightforward morals so far; everyone else has...issues somehow. So I guess we're going to find out about the core politics of each of these major parties, and Wren is either going to a) choose sides or b) blow them all off and make a faction of his own, the latter of which would be awesome and actually almost funny in a twisted sort of way.

Dundundun! So, if Lohaun gets er, waxed, by these guys, which it seems Hebe didn't want to do, but which she can't stop if her lackeys catch L... that means Wren is ON HIS OWN!! and he missed his one chance to get all his questions answered, so that means he's going to spend the rest of the comic figuring out the answers . Basically, I'm speculating that Lohaun dies, and Wren decides to go hunt up that guy they were supposed to meet in the US... though I have no idea how he manages to keep his tail... so I'm probably wrong .

Let's see--beginning where Dain twists the gun out of Lohaun's hand--
Dain says something he thinks is witty, and Lohaun is half way through a retort when Wren smashes his shoulder into Dain's kidneys. Dain says something apropos like "Oof!" or "Ugh" and keels to the concrete dry-heaving.
Lawler clears the brick dust out of his eyes, but Wren has scooped up the pistol dropped by Lohaun and sends a bullet through Lawlers testicles and one thru an actual vital organ. He dies and goes to Robot Hell where he becomes Bender's bestest buddy in the world.
Lohaun and Wren strike sparks getting out of that alley and onto a crowded commercial thoroughfare. Hebe calls the gargoyle on her video whom we met back in chapter one.
"I've lost them" she sez.
"Oh really Hebe, how inconvenient. I'll decide on your punishment after debriefing at HQ. In the meantime, stay on their trail. Now I must end this communication so that I can research new ways to be glib and pompous"
Sorry guys--I get carried away sometimes.

Redcrow, that is the the funniest thing EVER! Once this segment concludes, you should make a parody comic depicting that. XDDD

Redcrow, that is the the funniest thing EVER! Once this segment concludes, you should make a parody comic depicting that. XDDD hehe---thanks! That's a great idea, although regrettably, I'm working on a rather longish comic project right now, to be followed by another. Once I've got four done, it's my intention to go online with them. I will certainly keep that idea in mind, and thanks for the compliment! If you enjoy parodies on the same site as the story, let me recommend Terinu www.terinu.net/ if you don't already read it. It's another S.F. comic and has a text section called "Five-Minute Terinu" which is a satyrical synopsis of each chapter.

The real strength of the comic lies in the interaction of the main cast, who all but one have not appeared on the scene yet. *_*
I'm quoting snipes from the current page discussion thread. I'm going to go out on a limb and make a few inferences here, if I may. Only one of the characters we've met is a main one. Hmmm. Does that mean we won't be seeing Lohaun, Hebe, and her minions for much longer? And the Wren/Winter relationship... If we've only met one main character, one could make the argument they are one being.
Just some thoughts.

Oh, you raise an interesting point about the "one character" thing--and I have had suspicions that Winter might be a product of Wren's mind...
You know, someone on DeviantArt compared Winter to a spirit guide. Thought it was an interesting simile.

if I recall the old character page, it definitely had Lohaun, Hebe, and Lawler on it... so they're at least part of the 'main cast' even if they aren't 'core characters' per se... in any case, I'm betting Wren's gonna do something stupid. I'm not sure that Lohaun telling him Irshen's dead is going to convince him to skidaddle outta there... of course, it's a little unclear how close he actually is to Lohaun. On some level she seems like an older sister/mother figure (especially in the way she appears to relate to him), which makes me think maybe she had a big hand in his creation. But how does he relate to her? I don't really feel like he sees her as either a mom or a big sis... more like a comrade of sorts, but why would he relate to her that way? hmmm... Of course, we're not really getting a 'status quo' glimpse of them, so it's hard to say.

That's true about the old character page. Hm...Well, I consider characters in 3 or 4 groups: Main, Supporting Main, Significant Minor, and Minor. My guess is that Lohaun and Hebe's team are either supporting main or significant minor, but it's hard to tell where they each fall at this point...
I agree, Wren's going to go play hero, I'm sure. He seems the type. The one thing I'm not sure of is whether or not he'll succeed in that endeavor. Either he's going to do something really stupid (which is the more likely option), or he's going to surprise everyone with previously untapped kick-assitude.
Interesting point regarding Lohaun...If anything, she seems a little possessive of him, which supports that she had a hand in his creation. Also, that leads me to wonder why, out of all the "experiments" at the colony, she picked HIM to save. Maybe he's her pet project...Which would explain why she sometimes seems to objectify him, and only occasionally seems to see him as a person.
And Wren is sharp--he senses that she doesn't see him quite on the same level as herself. Clearly, he doesn't like it. But he also knows that she's all he's got right now, hence why he's going to go play hero.
Damn, I've been in analytical literature classes WAY too long. ^^;

Well, I can tell you for certain that Hebe and Lawler are part of the supporting main cast. I can't say anything else without giving away spoilers though.^^ Poofie, your dissection of their relationship makes me very happy. ;D

Damn, I've been in analytical literature classes WAY too long. ^^; We used to call those kinds of classes "Ana-Lit" Our prof was huge on the most insignificant details. Unfortunately, I am still unable to enjoy Harry Potter and LOTR just as pleasure reading. You've raised some interesting points about the Lohaun/Wren relationship. I'm reminded of a master/dog relationship. Sometimes, the dog is on your level, an equal. Sometimes, the dog is merely an object one posesses. (not to be mean, but how often does one say "Feed the Dog" in the same manner of endearment as "Cook Dinner for my Significant Other" ?) That dimension of the relationship alone makes me suspect Lohaun had a hand in Wren's creation. Her devotion to him makes me wonder if he was her first. Or on a deeper level, these are genetic experiments. Did some of Lohaun's matter go into Wren's creation? That could possibly account for Lo's "mothering." Just some more speculation. Go ahead and chew me out if you think I'm totally wrong. I enjoy intelligent disagreement. ;D

"Ana-lit". BRILLAINT!
It IS kind of like a master/dog relationship. O.o (Though as for your "feed the dog" example, we don't really get to use affection for that at my house because our dogs start pestering us an hour and a half before it's time to get fed. It's hard to be affectionate when they're that annoying!) Anyway...
I'm thinking that Wren is probably the project that she put the most time and effort into. Which then means that there's something unusual about him...Or maybe several things. We've already guessed that alien genetic material is one, but what else? The tagline for PWN on the comics page mentions superheroes. We have yet to see them; is Wren maybe one of them? (That'd so totally rock!)

Actually, Poofie, that's exactly what I was getting at. At times, no matter how much we love our furred companions, they are a burden. The dog is begging for food. It becomes an inconvenience to us. We aren't currently thinking of it as an equal creature, it's merely a thing with inconvenient needs. I see a lot of that in Lohaun's and Wren's relationship. For example, Wren wants his questions answered. He's suddenly an inconvenience to Lohaun. Lohaun suddenly needs something, and Wren is suddenly just as capable as Lohaun herself, if not more. As for what Wren feels Lohaun needs, we'll have to see, won't we? Snipes keeps hinting at Wren's kick-assitude, I'm getting curious. BTW, Snipes, if I'm totally off on this, please don't ban me from the Forum! I loves you guys! P.S.: Just in case you didn't get the pun, move the hyphen a bit: "Anal-it"! A handy label for class and prof! ;D
